GENERAL INFORMATION

1 Symposium Objectives

"Disaster Prevention Research Forum (DPRF)" will meet in Kobe, Japan, January 24-25 next year under theme "Japan-US joint symposium for natural disaster mitigation." And it comes as a great pleasure to be able to tell you this. DPRF was established in December, 2002, for planning of research collaboration system about various kinds of natural disasters. To plan future US-Japan collaboration in natural disaster reduction, we will focus on the methods of hazard evaluation, mapping, and the future outlook for the partnership between the both countries at this symposium. The program comprise five sessions which are earthquakes, volcanoes, flood, landslide, and Risk Management. Each sessio will include dynamic interactions.

3 Venue

The Symposium will be held at Shin-Kobe Oriental Hotel, in Kobe.


4 Official Language

The official language of the symposium is English. Simultaneous interpretations are provided.
